Update Feb 27, 2011! Never say never! We said we would have no foals in 2011, however we have acquired two new Haflinger mares, who are in foal to a JACK! Ha! Izzie HFB delivered a 'John' mule on Feb 25, 2011. It is a bit odd to see those long ears in the field, but he is adorable none the less!
Updates! 11-27-2010 Mystical Jewel MJW is the name of Mandolyn's filly. She was sold to Golden Fields Haflingers, the Durose family, Congratulations!
Alpine Rock MJW is the name of Lilly's stud colt. He will be staying with us!
We did not breed any of our mares for 2011 foals. We will concentrate on showing our horses in 2011.
A filly! Born April 6th, 2010 7:03 pm Sire is A Rock, Dam: Mandolyn RVRW Full sister to Marquis MJW, this is a sweet girl. We are so thankful for this baby and that Mandy is safe. Special thanks to Ohio State University and their wonderful team for keeping Mandy safe and the baby several months ago when she was in intensive care for 12 days! This is a special day for us! I watched Mandy all day, and stayed in the house to watch her on the camera while Mike and Johnathan went to fly his new Easter kite. I heard them pull in, looked at the camera, and Mandy was standing. A couple minutes later, she was down, and I walked out to the barn, and there was Mike and Johnathan, watching. JD once again got to see a foal born, which is such a blessing! Lots of questions, but quite a happy boy to see the new baby. I was able to record the birth for the first time, as Mike helped Mandy with the foaling.

**Stud Colt** Born March 26, 2010, 1:10 am. Sire is A Rock, Dam is Lilly Langtree HFB. This guy is a full brother to our other colt, A Rock Solid Investment MJW, who oddly enough, was born exactly a year ago as well!
Lilly was waxed for four days, keeping us in waiting, and lots of tired nights! But this morning, with snow falling (after a week of 70+ degree weather) she decided that a snowy night was alright, and delivered this healthy guy who is yet to be named. Text book birth, we are very happy that mom and little boy are both doing great!

We are waiting for our 2010 foals to start arriving! This year we will only be expecting two foals! Wow! Hopefully not so many late nights as in 2009 when we had six foals!
Our idea to not breed as many mares back for 2010 has nothing to do with the economy, it simply has to do with the fact that we are very happy with our previous foals and each one has the qualities we desire in our performance horses. While this is every breeders goal, it usually doesn't happen in just a few foal crops. However, our mares and stallion, A Rock have crossed so nicely that our foals are exactly what we were hoping for, so we want to keep them and watch them grow up and see them in the performance ring!
All of our foals will carry our farm suffix 'MJW' which stands for Mike and Jacque Woodward. While we are not going to be advertising these foals for sale as we want them to grow up here and become part of our performance program, private inquiries are welcome. Special consideration given to youth and 4-H projects.
