Linde Star MJW

Linde is a two year old filly.  Sired by our gold rated stallion A Rock, and out of the amazing mare, Luna Gold MMH, I purchased Luna at age 18 in hopes of getting just one foal from her.  Linde is that foal.  I have had the pleasure of owning and training several of Luna's foals, and I am very excited about this young filly.  She has a wonderful, sweet and pleasing temperament, and her conformation speaks volumes of her amazing pedigree.

Five more foals to go, perhaps ONE will be my stud colt? :)

Just born.  It was 19 degrees last night and even with two heat lamps on I wanted to get the baby as dry as quickly as possible.

Mama and baby

Only 10% of people have actually seen a foal born from the 'water' breaking to the actual birth.

Johnathan is three years old and has already witnessed TWO births from start to finish!

'Hey, I need a little help!'  The filly just finding her legs and about to fall down and I just happened to be behind her and caught her!

Look at those long, long legs!

After the long wait, Johnathan finally had enough excitement and climbed into my lap as I was sitting on a bucket and fell asleep while we were waiting for all the 'first's to happen.  She decided to come over and say Hi!  Yes, I look a bit tired, but relieved the birth was uncomplicated! :)

Our first 2009 foal was born Saturday, Feb 21, 2009 at 10:25 pm

Hi to all! We are thrilled to announce our first 2009 foal! Luna Gold MMH has kept us waiting and on our toes for three weeks now, however Saturday at 10:25 our first 2009 foal was born sired of course, by A Rock.
An adorable long legged filly!

Text book birth, Luna was waxed around 10:00 am this morning, and around 10:00 pm she went down. Since Mike has been working 12 hour days, 6 days a week, he was asleep and I was watching a movie and had the camera monitor set up in the living room. Johnathan came out of his room for some reason, and I told him to go wake up daddy.

We helped with the deliver, and then the filly was up, nursed, pooped, and Luna passed her afterbirth before she even got up, and we were back in the house by 12:30! Yippee!
Everything went fine, we are now searching for L names for a filly as I was convinced that this was going to be my A Rock stud colt! This filly we have named Linde Star MJW.   This will be Luna's last foal as she is 19 years old and my goal was to have one foal out of her. She will be retired to the pasture with her guy Newsline!  Although Mike says this filly is so nice we should breed her back....
